Item Stats

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A white or grey item for instance, will only be upgraded one time and items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.

Players can choose to upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll attaches. Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is thus more useful in the early game than in later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5%. These items can be bought at the store or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item upgrader kit, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases this chance by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
