The upgrading of your items is a vital part of equipping your character. Upgrades increase item upgrader Kit damage and enchantments.

They also offer bonuses and enhancements. They are available by contacting the Blacksmith.

Players can recycle any item by pressing the upgrade button on it. Every recycled item upgrader adds one level to the upgrade gauge.

Weapon

When a weapon gets upgraded, it gets a base damage bonus and a scaling factor which affects other stats. Certain upgrade components come with aesthetic effects while others give additional benefits. These upgrades can be inserted into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, and most require that the equipment have an upgrade slot available and meet certain requirements. Once a weapon or armor piece features an upgrade component within it, the item can be replaced with another however the prior upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be recovered by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool, or by using a high-end salvage tool on the item it self.

In addition to the standard upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded using a Calibration Attribute that improves certain stats like Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This can be done via the Gear Workbench interaction menu. This can be repeated four times depending on the weapon's level.

When the weapon reaches its maximum upgrade, it can then be reforged to add different bonuses and effects, or to improve specific stats. All of these upgrades can be used simultaneously, and their effects will vary depending on how rare the weapon is.

Two Blacksmiths can be upgraded in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons and Somber Smithing Stones for modifying the kind of damage that a weapon inflicts.

Generally, it is advised to improve weapon damage first, then armour defense, then the other secondary stats that are required by your build. It is not unusual to see melee Druids upgrade their weapon before upgrading other equipment. This will increase DPS. This is especially applicable to enchantments, which are extremely effective in boosting the damage of a weapon and other stats.

Armor

item level upgrade Upgrades allow players to increase the effectiveness of specific weapons, armors trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have additional effects like increased damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item Upgrades are available by crafting, buying from NPC vendors and loot drop, or as quest rewards.

Armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. Most armor will upgrade to the next level after an upgrade. This is possible for any type of armor, however certain types of armor cannot be upgraded at all (such as the armor used to start in Great Sky Island).

Most armor upgrades provide a small increase to an item upgrader's base defense or strength. However, certain upgrade components can provide significant improvements in defense or strength, particularly when upgrading an item that is epic.

The second attempt will result in a Dragonscale armor with an initial defense range of between 67-77.

Potion

By putting a potion in a stand for brewing, you will be able to unlock new effects. The upgrade opens a new tier of potion effect, and can be repeated to unlock more potency levels.

The potion also gains a custom color code, that the player can pick by using /give. This alters the area-of-effect clouds and arrows created by the potions. In Bedrock Edition the custom potion color also affects the particle effects of the potions.

The water bottle, the mundane and thick potions and difficult potions, now have a new brewing texture. In the Creative Inventory potion healing and weakness are now available. There are lingering potions available that can be brewed with splash potions or dragon breath and a thick pot with the status effect Mining Fatigue (duration 4 hours). Trinket

A trinket is an ornament that is inexpensive or a piece of jewelry. This can be a ring, necklace, or even a small flag to identify a vessel's lateen yard. It can also refer to a gold-plated trinket on the mast of a vessel.

This macabre trinket is believed to be influencing the residents of this maze, making them more common. At the moment, this trinket makes all kinds of mimic Xx more common and gives every floor a Y% chance to contain an ebony-colored mimic. Upgrades to this trinket require an amount of energy.

The magic from the enchanted scepter is believed to influence the dungeon, making it more likely to create grass and water. This trinket, at its current level will cause X% of regular floors to be filled with water or grass. It doesn't alter glyphs, enchantments, cursed weapons or armor or items that are produced to solve the dangers in rooms.

While it appears like an ordinary eye of a newt, this mysterious object appears to affect your vision in ways beyond simply reducing your field of view. At the moment, this trinket can increase the total health of the drinkers of healing, waterskins and wells of health by X% and gives you eyesight on enemies within the Y tiles. This does not stack with Heightened Senses.

After completing the Mastery Cave After completing the Mastery Cave, you will be able to find Trinkets by defeating Monsters and inside chests and crates in Skull Cavern. They are not found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

If you have a trinket that requires upgrading, place it in the Anvil to upgrade it. This will have an effect on the trinket that is random, either increasing or strengthening its effects. You can reuse the trinket as often as you'd like however it will always be able to produce a new effect.

You can also improve your Trinkets by putting them in a magical catalyst at the Alchemy Station. It will cost you 6 energy, but will increase the power of the trinket by a tiny amount.
