World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will increase 3percent of its previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item upgrader kit, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each Upgrade item increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant chance that the Best item upgrader could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

You will often find in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

The use of a Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
