10 Unexpected Item Upgrade Tips
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can sometimes increase the stats of a piece and sometimes even its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the gear's tiers, their requirements and how many random augmentations can be applied.
For example, the elite shield for racial discrimination Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb ability in PvP or to provide additional defenses on missile based designs in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to reroll an acquired item like an armor, weapon, or rings. The item is replaced with another of the same kind and comes with different benefits. Reroll tokens can be an economical method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't retain the quality of the original item, and any wasted resources aren't refunded.
The survivors can acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in chests and crates or bought from the market at a cost of 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter an attribute of the equipment, such as increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.
Players can roll their equipment into three aspects: physical power, magic power and health. Upgrades to physical power increase the damage of melee and weapons attack while upgrades to spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.
There are three types of Reroll tokens: upgrade, rare, and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a higher quality, with the requirement of a higher-quality reroll token order to create it. Upgrades require a regular item upgrader kit. Rare upgrades require items that are either unique or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
In contrast to other special tokens and markers placed on Action spaces the reroll marker stays on the space until the next success result is to be rerolled. This is a way to ensure that upgrades are not wasted.
Blueprints are envelopes that show up at the start of each Preparation phase. They can be opened using Interact by pressing on them. Once they are open they will display a complete description and the icon of the appliance or ingredient that they correspond to. The restaurant's store will swap blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for an amount of money.
This means that you can move blueprints between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool during a run. This changes which blueprints the restaurant's shop offers to reroll and which are available in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
Weapons such as armor, weapons, and other accessories can be upgraded in Throne and Liberty using Growth Stones. These are special stones that increase the value of an item by improving its stats or characteristics. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell these stones for a cost. They are also available to players who have completed daily contracts.
To upgrade equipment, the player must first locate the item then click the "level up button". This will display a list of the item's levels and what it will be after being leveled-up. It will also show the amount of Growth Stones required to do so. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade a piece of gear will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue), rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires a single Growth Stone.
After selecting the item to upgrade, the player must select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay the cost. When the requirements are met, the player can then click the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will increase the item's level by a certain percentage. The process of upgrading can last from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is risk-free and does not impact the durability of the item. This is an excellent option for players who want to gain an advantage in combat, but don't want to strain their wallets. Clicking on the "transfer tab", players can also transfer the experience and progress of an upgraded item onto an entirely new piece of equipment.
New players may find it difficult to acquire Growth Stones. There are a variety of ways to obtain the stones. You can finish contracts and purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants, defeat Abyssal Contracts, get them from Equipment Stone Seal Book or collect them from reward chests during the Ancient Arena Season. In addition players can also take apart higher-level Growth Stones to create multiple lower-level ones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that lets you increase the effectiveness of weapons and armor. You can also upgrade item trinkets and helms. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials, and then pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will use up the upgrade materials and give the item upgrader kit a higher level, granting the item a boost in that area. This process can be repeated until the maximum level for an item is attained.
Items with upgraded base stats will display a blue icon in their slot. In contrast to enchantments, upgrade components cannot be stacked with one another, and can only be added to a single item at one time. Furthermore, each upgrade component will require a specific quantity of items to be added, as well as an appropriate amount for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station comes with two slots: the first is where players can place a piece of equipment to be upgraded, and the right shows a preview of what the gear will look like when it reaches its next level. When the player has enough items, pressing the yellow arrow will begin the upgrade process.
An item of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each upgrade, the base stats of the item will increase by only a tiny amount. The highest level for an item is 19.
When an item reaches its maximum level, its upgrades will no longer be available for it. When an item attains a certain upgrade track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer) upgrades for that track will have a discount.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can slot into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and weapons to give an extra effect or attribute bonus when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased through vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be changed with new ones. However, this could cause the old upgrade to be destroyed.
Requirements
item upgrades (Lvziku noted) give players the ability to increase certain attributes of weapons and armor that they currently have equipped. The requirements for upgrading an item upgrading will differ based on the type of item, but you'll typically need Dilithium along with the number of Upgrade tokens.
The items can be upgraded by adding item upgrade components to weapons and equipment. This will give them additional effects or an increase in quality of the item. These upgrades can be obtained from a variety of sources, including crafting, buying at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from bosses and raids. Once an upgrade item component is inserted into an object, it cannot be removed or replaced. However the glyphs can be swapped freely.
Upgrades to an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, certain upgrade components have additional modifiers which can further enhance the stats of the item.
For instance, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense, and also adds an extra 20% chance of blocking. The dps "Wildfire", however increases damage from weapons.
Upgrades can be beneficial for some items, but not because they boost stats. They are more valuable for the players when they achieve the perfect roll. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x more than the non-upp'd version.
If you choose an upgrade component to be inserted into an item the game will show a pop-up window that shows the required requirements. The game will show the requirements required when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
The game will put an item in your inventory after you have fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade. The progress bar will update to show you how close you are towards completing the upgrade. You can also check on the status of an item upgrade by visiting any NPC that upgrades items.
