Merdeka 118 is a megatall skyscraper located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Standing at an impressive height of 678.9 meters (2,227 feet), it is the second-tallest building in the world, surpassed only by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. With its towering presence, Merdeka 118 has surpassed the Shanghai Tower in China (632 meters) to become the tallest building in Southeast Asia.
The tower's name, "Merdeka," which means "independence" in the Malay language, pays homage to Malaysia's independence. It is situated on the site of the former Merdeka Park, in the vicinity of iconic landmarks such as Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara, adding to its symbolic significance.
