World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade item components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade items could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item level upgrade upgrading system allows players to improve the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This could be a problem in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like crit chance attack damage, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For example they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
