Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was an ode to the classic sextet format, and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort with a harder edge. The more edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the growth of the band. Bobby Kimball's growing proficiency was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard work was as well more refined, more precise and less akin to previous efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the band recorded their Amsterdam live performance which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. A new studio album followed a few months later, and the group went on a long-distance tour in support of it.
