WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar Item Level Upgrade, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using the help of button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a certain Best item upgrade level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item upgrader kit level, will cost less. This is even if those items are from an entirely different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific Best item upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
