What Freud Can Teach Us About Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show a preview of an item upgrader mod's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.
The upgrade items cost depends on the slot of the item level upgrade (please click the following website) and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through several methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with some new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even if they belong to another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
