Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item level upgrade upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the item upgrader Mod's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade item system was altered a bit, with numerous new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less, even if they belong to another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific level upgrades for items. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader mod upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It's Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality gear.
