Slot Rankings - How Wide Receivers Score More Touchdowns in the Slot

Slots are the same for each spin. There aren't any tricks that can aid you in beating them. There are some tips you can follow to increase your chances of winning.

Take a look at the RTP of a game before you start. This figure tells you how much players can expect to win on average over the long run.

Slot Efficiency

Slot efficiency is the aim of maximising the number of slot switches that can be constructed without violating certain constraints. These constraints typically include the minimal operational delay (usually expressed in terms of scheduling delays), fairness and equity, access and competition, environmental goals, and more. The process of distributing slots isn't easy, and optimizing it to achieve the desired performance metrics requires a careful analysis of the factors involved.

The process starts by identifying the different types of requests to be prioritised in accordance with the past experience. Once the type of request has been determined the slot allocation model is utilized to minimize the required delay the criterion. However, many research gaps have been identified regarding the optimization of slot scheduling models, especially when the balance between fairness and efficiency is being maintained.

A common method of prioritizing slot assignments is the ABC (assigned by velocity) strategy that collects information about the history of items and then determines the velocity group. Items that have the highest speed are assigned the fastest High-Quality Slots in the warehouse, while items with lower speeds are placed further back.

The distance factor is another important element in the efficiency of slot machines. It measures the amount of space needed to facilitate the pick-to-ship process. The measure takes into account the velocity group of items, as along with their rack placements and the characteristics of handling equipment.

To increase slot efficiency In order to increase the efficiency of slot machines, it is important to think about the costs associated with any slot change. A quick analysis of the typical slot change will help managers understand the cost of the move, and the impact that it might have on other aspects of slot efficiency, such as speed.

After one or two months proving the data and back-dating suggestions, the casino began using the software more frequently. The gaming operations team estimates that they will save between 10-12 hours a month by using their traditional analysis. This doesn't include the time spent reviewing data from customers or creating a new actionable strategy.

Using the new suggestions from SRE, the team was able to come up with numerous suggestions for game changes that increased the revenue of players. Particularly, Dancing Drums Explosion and Twinstar Wave XL both by Scientific Games, saw big increases in the premium lease and WAP rankings. The casino was also able to shift its budget away from marketing to other expenses and increase floor performance.

Perimeter Efficiency

We all know that wide receivers are more likely to score more touchdowns on targets that are in the perimeter than slot machine bonuses targets, as they're usually targeted way downfield and often have one-on-one coverage. But what might surprise people is the different between the top five slot receivers and the rest when it comes to scoring on these targets that are located in the perimeter.

Of the wide receivers who have seen at least 40 targets in the past two seasons, the top five slot scorers on the perimeter routes were all speed receivers: Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Michael Gallup. The bottom half of this list is dominated by receivers who are more possession-based, such as Chris Godwin and Diontae Johnston. The Bucs are likely to shift the latter two players into the slot more often this season, which should increase their targets. However, they'll have to improve their scoring on the perimeter in order to keep their high standards.

Speedy wideouts are among the biggest benefits of moving into the slot because they generally are more likely to be open in the field when their route isn't obstructed by a linebacker or cornerback. Corey Coleman is the only wide receiver who isn't a speedy wideout but would benefit from more slot time. He's a good target for short and intermediate routes.

Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and other receivers who are based on possession are at the bottom of the list. They're better on shorter and intermediate routes than deep areas. Jeudy, who will be the Rams' primary slot receiver this season, is a sleeper pick. Courtland Cooper and Amari Sutton are expected to play a larger role in downfield targets. Hamler should be able to excel on intermediate and short-to middle routes, as that's the way he performed in 2021 when he played for the Bills. He could be an excellent replacement for the departing wideout Jordan Matthews.

Percentage of Snaps In Slot

The percentage of snaps that receivers take in the slot could be a good indicator of their ability to run deep routes. However, it isn't always an accurate representation of a receiver's abilities because some receivers excel in the slot but cannot play deep, and vice versa.

Alshon Jeffrey, as an example is the league leader in the number of targets he receives per game (4.8) However, he's only 6th in the position that scores (58.5). This is due to the fact that most of his targets have been thrown from the outside and it is difficult to gain a first down on a wide-open, deep route in this setting.

On the other hand, some receivers excel at playing inside and aren't able to do much on the outer. Robby Anderson, for instance was given 978 snaps by the Panthers this season. He ran 74% of his route in the slot, compared to just 26% on boundaries routes. This is an enormous distinction and demonstrates how much more efficient Robby Anderson is when aligned to the slot.

Chris Godwin, a Buccaneers player, plays in the middle of the field most of his passing downs. He has one of the top five online slot machines receiving scores (58.5). He also played 51% his perimeter routes and is an expert in one-on-1 coverage.

Speed receivers are usually more effective when lined up inside, since they are able to get targeted down the field and frequently are in one-on-one coverage. That's why you'll see names like Julio Jones, Mike Evans, and Amari Cooper in the top five on our list.

McDuffie, Moore and other slot cornerbacks are also in this group. McDuffie is the leader in the NFL in forced fumbles with seven, and Moore has the best tackle-stop efficiency (-3.5) on this list. Through using McDuffie in the slot when they are running nickel or dime packages and then placing him on the outside in base defense, Spagnuolo has maximized his capabilities. In addition, Moore's capability to stop big run plays has been a tremendous advantage when playing in the slot.

Percentage of Snaps Outside

While the NFL's top receivers such as Baldwin, Golden Tate and Larry Fitzgerald excel on the perimeter, it's also worth noting that their slot counterparts are just as excellent. Wide receivers with an excellent slot grade have touchdowns that are about the same as those on the outside. This is due to the fact that quarterbacks have a more stable target distribution when throwing to outside and slot receivers, compared to other inside options like tight ends and backfield pass-catchers.

That's why it's interesting to see a receiver such as CeeDee Lamb on this list in 2022, as he plays the slot in three WR sets, and flanker in two of the sets. He's actually running more routes in the slot than most of the players on this chart. This is a great way to create matchup advantages for your team. It also helps to explain why Lamb ranks as the highest-graded slot receiver in our system this season.

Lamb also plays at the X-position, and can make big plays outside. Lamb isn't as powerful as some of the other players in this ranking but he's an elite wide receiver that is well-suited to the Cowboys scheme.

Mecole Hardman is another example of a player who's capable of posting big numbers on both kinds of targets. He is one of the top players in the league when it comes to catching throws from behind his shoulders. He's also a great contested-catch player.

Another player on this list who's a true slot specialist is Baltimore's Jalen Hilton, who has lined up in the slot on 85.7 percent of his defensive snaps this season. He's allowed the third-lowest target EPA and the fifth-best run stop EPA for cornerbacks that are aligned in the slot, which makes him a crucial part of his team's defense. He's struggled to stop passes from the outside, and his EPA against this type of target is negative. This is due to him playing with safety and linebackers who cannot compete with Hilton's speed, size or ability to run routes.
