15 Reasons Not To Overlook Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade items.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item level upgrade [check out this one from 153.126.169.73] upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade items will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade items can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.
Upgraders for items can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less even if they belong to another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available after certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
