1. Engine Speed Sensor
The grey wire is located on the outside of the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor transmits signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The sensor serves as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is located so that it can trigger spark and injectors in the right way.
If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate the possibility of a chain stretch or jump in the chain link of the upper chain of timing. However, the error code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
It can be a bit difficult to test because there are several pins on the connector and each has its own functions. The best method for doing this is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. It should read about 1000 ohms when the sensor is at full operation. If you're having issues with this component, look for evidence of oil or coolant in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at full speed I noticed a massive reduction in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. I took out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were soaked in gasoline, and the fourth was dry. When I start the engine without sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each hole in the injector and the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ i get 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it works fine when the G28 plugged in. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when it is unplugged, shows temperatures of -49c. Also i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.
I don't know what to do. I believe that I've ruled everything else out. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump of the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor.
