Watching seeds germinate is excellent activity for children, especially when the seeds develop quickly. Alfalfa is an easy-to-grow seed that should sprout within a week. To see the seeds germinate by sprinkling a few alfalfa seeds over a piece of paper towel that is damp.

What you'll need:
a packet of alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g)
A small plate or saucer
Three paper towels
A small or spray mister water container

How to Develop
Put 3 sheets of paper towel on a plate.
Then , drain the water from the plate. The paper towel should be moist, but the seeds shouldn't be floating in water.
Sprinkle the seeds evenly onto the towel.
Put the paper towel on a sunny window and water to stop the paper towel from drying out. To wet seeds you can make use of a spray bottle or mister to do so. You can also add water to the saucer by using either a cup or a small jug.
Every day, check your seeds to observe how they're growing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa seeds are easy to grow and should begin to germinate in 2-6 days. If seeds don't sprout in this time, here are a few possible reasons why things went wrong:

Too dry. Seeds require water to grow. Alfalfa seeds absorb around 50% of their weight in water before they sprout, making them appear swollen. If your seeds are dry, they will not germinate. You can add more water to the plate to ensure that the seeds are damp but not floating. You could also soak your seeds for a few hours. Make sure you rinse them thoroughly before transferring them to a towel.

Too moist Seeds that are moist could cause their roots and sprouts to turn brown before they grow. It is also possible that mould may begin to grow around the seeds. It's fine for the paper towel to be moist but the seeds should not be floating in water. Every time you water or mist the seeds, rinse off any excess water.

Too cold or زراعة بذور الملوخية (Learn Even more) hot: The best temperature for alfalfa to grow is 20-25degC. If you are growing your seeds in winter, place them in a warm location inside. You might need to keep your seeds hydrated more often if you grow them in very hot temperatures. They will dry out more quickly.
