Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet arrangement of previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort with a harder edge than Hydra. Its edgier sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency on the drums, as well as an improved, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also sharper, more complex and less akin to earlier efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live concert which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between.
