Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives an increase in linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at one time to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. In addition to this, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The primary method to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are components that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer a general bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be put in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than those that are equipment type specific. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected statistics after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as blocked if you don't have enough of either.

The number of upgrade item components needed for a specific item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, but it can be reduced by many different ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia or rune. Many can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item and add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them even more effective in conveying a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also enhance the likelihood of remembering messages by creating a familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph has a set of values it can increase a stat's value in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is not the actual amount at which the glyph will increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount it is able to do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're in awe of it.

Most upgrade components slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you wish to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed, but you can recover the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards, therefore it should not be considered a loss.

If you take an item off after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will disappear. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This can be helpful for players who are taking lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment and they can be obtained through a variety of methods, including in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a new random affix, which is typically superior to the original. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls are based on a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but users should be aware that it could lower the overall ilvl of the weapon by the number of rerolls needed to raise it to its final ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective for Diadems and ring items that do not have any competing ilvl-raising options.

The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it with money or food items that allows players to modify their builds without spending too much time and effort. The developers do not plan to implement paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add an option to change the race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the value of upgrading a stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. Finally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. When this is done the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is based on the glyphs. However, there are times where a higher or more special roll could occur. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive Best item upgrader to a special kind of item, it's likely to receiving a higher level.

Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it has. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're lucky, your upgraded item may get to the top of its upgrade track and gain an additional effect. This will give you a substantial increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, though. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.

The iLevel also changes in accordance with the item level upgrade's upgrade path and its base level. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a unique or rare to an extraordinary item is likely to get the enhanced defense of the new base type of item.
