A Toto Asia Success Story You ll Never Believe
The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad and operating in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an opportunity to grow for toilets and bidet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was recording Toto words to ensure that the next generation would be able to read them. Many words were substituted with foreign ones. For example dui, which is Bengali for verandah, was used.
Origins
Incorporated in 1917, Toto's early years mirrored Japan's economic growth. In the first half of its existence, the company manufactured products to meet the demands of new, modern urban housing. It used the first tunnel kiln in the country to produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered automation for production control, allowing greater efficiency and a more consistent production.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s in order to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company established the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other manufacturers' products in order to expand its line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and expanded the firm's global market share.
In the 1990s Toto began to concentrate on research and development of water-related appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better meet the needs of customers and increase profits. The company embraced a just-in time approach to supply chain management and used the same approach for its sales process. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.
Toto has continued to innovate on the toilet technology. The most recent toilet features a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. The company uses recycled water in its manufacturing process, and also has a green purchasing policy. Apart from toilets, Toto produces bathtubs and faucets and hand dryers that are more energy efficient than typical models.
The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It features exhibits on Toto’s seminal products as well as their evolution, group companies (all of which are made from ceramics) as well as the history of plumbing and even bath units. In another gallery, visitors can see Toto products sold all over. The museum even has a bathroom that includes the WASHLET toilet, as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before forming Toto, members of the band did sessions for a variety of musicians. Boz Scaggs album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich and guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather as well as drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also appeared on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name like Asia one would think that the group would be prog kings and queens - but it's actually a fairly straightforward rock group. The group was formed as a four-piece and released two albums: 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. Although the band have a diverse musical background their biggest hit was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, however it did not come without its share of issues. Record companies placed the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us an album that is a success or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on them to meet the deadline. Toto was able to achieve this through the aid of the hit song "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their prior experience. Before joining the group, the band members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic signature has since become the standard for '80s pop, influencing many modern artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write amazing AOR songs that slowly build their hooks into your mind. But the album also contains some slower, more jazzy tracks like The Little Things and 안전놀이터 추천 Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations. This song mixes folk and distorted AOR 먹튀검증 커뮤니티 스포츠토토 사이트 (https://bookmark-master.com/story18205198/the-top-toto-website-official-tricks-to-rewrite-your-life) which could seem like a complete blunder, but is very effective.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career. The band had several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the group in the wake of drug charges and the band continued as a trio, which included Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation, which was not as successful as IV. However, the band managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. This album marked Toto's final lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of previous albums and was a more powerful, constant effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity on drums, and an improved, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live show that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The studio album came out just a few months later and the group embarked on a long-distance tour in support of the album. During this period, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old demo tapes and tapes to make a new record featuring songs that were never recorded before. It was released as a double-album titled Then and Now in 2001. It was the first album in the band's history not to include a single song with the word "A" in its title and it included one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure and the vocalist Williams was suffering from a serious laryngitis condition which limited his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia, met in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. The lineup, which was minus Howe (who was working with Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
