Path of Exile Item Upgrades

item upgrade upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Often times however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear due to their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged using a professional or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from items.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. A piece of armor upgraded to its highest upgrade level will boost its ability to absorb damage. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be heavier.

There are several different types of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. For example, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade that an item upgrade will receive, as shown below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire according to the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant boost in stats, and are definitely worth the cost.

Upgrading a piece of armor to max upgrade level will greatly increase its defense values, but the player should be aware that increasing its weight will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. For this reason, it is typically not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the added defense is usually not worth the additional weight and power cost of the improvements required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

Most upgrades for weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of monsters and bosses.

To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain amount of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the more advanced the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. In the past, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher rarity. You could continue doing this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for your weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would be reset.

This is still possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. Instead, you're better off going to the stores and buying gear with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These items have a better chance of giving you the highest level of benefits and blessings.

The majority of players will prioritize upgrades to the weapons they use most frequently to allow them to progress quicker. In addition to these players, they should think about upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to make them more powerful as well. Shepard for instance, should upgrade the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more effective when used with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to increase the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects on weapons and armor. They can be created through the process of jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gem with several ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the level of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.

The quality of a diamond can be improved by the Jeweler, with stages that range from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a high enough level to qualify for the privilege of having them. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped with another jewel of the same type without destroying the original one. You can only replace the jewel once within an item upgrader mod of equipment.

It is common to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create a surface that is harder than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots won't cause harm as easily.

In addition to the above upgrades, the player can also acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped freely but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also a scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like aegis and traits, aren't swappable and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that bestow a wide range of small, but beneficial advantages to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and by completing road interactions. They can also be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinkets that a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants a small but useful bonus in speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in the same way to how a player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any device. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This lets a hero become more efficient even when not in combat. It also helps compensate for the absence of good team or talent tree slots which would normally be filled by the hero's optimal stats.

A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item upgrader mod. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand will pick a green or a pink ward, based on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.

Aside from the items listed above, players can find a number of other items in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones in the story, such as completing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can see them by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
