Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item can be enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides an increase in the linearity of any stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished by a number of means such as the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. In addition to this, many items can be reforged to increase their stats.

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The most common method of upgrading gear is through the use of upgrade components which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed in any kind of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item upgrader mod gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, simply select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you do not have enough of either.

The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia, or a rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful instrument for communicating visual information. They animate in order to draw the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also improve the recall of messages by creating an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain amount. This is displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it actually increases it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the product you are in awe of it.

Most upgrade components inserted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, therefore it should not be considered as a loss.

When you remove an item after adding a glyph, the shards of the glyph will disappear. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who are taking many hits from their enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players change the affixes of their equipment and weapons, and can be found in various ways like mistery boxes or as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a new random affix that is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they can still receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade item button", you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will alter the design of the item's window and let up to six items be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, therefore items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls are based on a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it is higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.

Rerolling is a great method to improve an item. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is reduced by the number that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on Rings and Diadems because they are the only options to raise the ilvl.

The Reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive and it's more equitable to let players pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to modify their build without a lot of time and effort. The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. They plan to add the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to boost the value of an item upgrade. The first is to increase the upgrade amount that increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which increases damage or healing for a stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. After this, the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded type of item.

When you upgrade items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. In the majority of cases the Best item upgrade roll will be derived from glyphs, however there are also possibilities for higher or more special rolls. In addition, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type which means that if you upgrade a unique or rare item to an extraordinary type it will have a chance to gain an iLevel that is higher.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it offers. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item could attain the highest level on its upgrade items track and gain an additional effect. This will result in a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level though. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.

Depending on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For instance an item upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an outstanding one can be expected to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
