The Reasons To Focus On Improving Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item upgrader kit (Read Home ) Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a frequent and important way to improve the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of damage, more AD or even more attachments.
Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear due to their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item upgrader mod that they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a specialist or higher salvage kit to salvage upgrade components from other items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can take on. The damage absorption of an item of armor will increase as it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game, and they all have different effects. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain number of health points while others will make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item can get will be identified by the name of the upgrade, as shown in the table below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Additionally, some upgrades require a charge to use, which are shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades are updated daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the environment and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can give a significant boost in stats, and are well worth the investment.
The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it will also affect the speed and agility of the piece. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The boost in defense generally isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Some weapons have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).
The majority of upgrades to weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of monsters and bosses.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars you will need to complete the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could do this until you reached a maximum upgrade items level for your equipment or weapon, following which the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. You should consider buying equipment with low upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These items have a greater chance of giving you the highest level of advantages and benefits.
The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they use most frequently to allow them to progress quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates use to boost their strength. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to make it more useful when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are placed in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. They can be created through the process of jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem and several reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the tier of the gemstone, the better its secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that range from Crude to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ according to the tier that the jewel is at when it's inserted into jewelry, weapons, or gear.
All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a sufficient level to be able to get the privilege of having them. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out by a different jewel of the same type without damaging the original one. However, you can only replace one jewel in an item of equipment once.
Using more jewels in a move can make it feel more comfortable, and is often performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. Jewels also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be exchanged, however they're not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like traits or aegis can't be swapped, and can only be found through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are pieces of equipment that provide a wide range of tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. You can find them in the start-up area as loot or personal story rewards. They are also available from vendors and by the completion of road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak, which gives a small, but valuable boost to speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has an upgrade slot which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not in combat. This allows the hero to be more effective when not active and also helps to compensate for the absence of a strong team or any talent tree slots that normally are filled with hero's ideal statistics.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrader-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the Best item upgrade that is being upgraded. This is true especially if you want to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It is better to upgrade one important stat than two less important ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand, will choose a green or a pink ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players may also find other trinkets throughout the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing the main quest of a chapter or defeating an opponent. You can see them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
